Recently, I started to keep birds. Life with birds is more surprising than I imagined. Birds are considered the surviving relatives of dinosaurs and theropods. I am very much interested in the contrasts between the archeological drawings of shiny-skinned dinosaurs that I saw in books and museums when I was little and the latest images based on recent discoveries where they have feathers and brighter colors.
I decided to start making artworks as if to make a sign. I would like to look at each texture in our daily lives and the five senses that respond to them as “my history”, the senses before they reach words and thoughts.
As humans, we have inherited the ability from the visually dominant apes to materialize various ideas in a form that can be seen. However, when I became aware of all the plants and animals in the natural world, as a result of the relationship between the bird and me, I realized that they have been surviving and coexisting for a long time, and that there must have been the germ of invisible ethics or religion. I wonder if the dinosaurs of the distant past had the same impression.
